Jon Tiller

Jon is a technology leader with over 20 years of hands-on experience across system development, security, cloud infrastructure, and applied machine learning. He works at the intersection of building, operating, and securing software systems, with a focus on making solutions reliable over time, not just functional in the moment.

His background spans both public and private sectors, including work on large-scale and mission-critical systems within government and defence. He has contributed to national platforms such as Helsenorge.no and Altinn.no, and has worked with the Norwegian Directorate of Elections on solutions involving machine learning and computer vision in sensitive environments where correctness and reliability are essential.

Jon has deep experience with observability and system behaviour in production, including logging, metrics, and tracing, as well as techniques such as aspect-oriented programming to instrument and understand complex systems. This has given him a practical understanding of how systems fail in real-world scenarios, and how to detect, diagnose, and prevent issues before they escalate.

Earlier in his career, he worked with infrastructure and security systems in the Norwegian Armed Forces, building a strong foundation in operational thinking and risk awareness.
